March 28, 2025 – Audio-Technica (Greater China) Ltd. held a grand celebration at the New World Millennium Hotel in Hong Kong, marking its 30th anniversary. Company presidents and senior executives from around the world gathered to commemorate this milestone, including Mr. Kazuo Matsushita, President of Audio-Technica Corporation Japan, who attended with his team to offer their congratulations.
President Kazuo Matsushita: “Thirty Years – A New Beginning”
In a heartfelt and reflective atmosphere, Mr. Kazuo Matsushita opened the ceremony with an inspiring speech:
“In 1994, we planted the seed of Audio-Technica in Hong Kong. With a team of fewer than ten, the road ahead was uncertain. Yet through focus and innovation, we have transformed Audio-Technica into a household name for premium audio across Greater China.
The past decade tested us like never before. The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted supply chains and reshaped markets. Yet, AT-GC rose to the challenge. We pivoted swiftly—expanding e-commerce and optimizing supply chains—to achieve a steady recovery. Even in adversity, our profitability remained strong, a testament to our team’s resilience.
I would like to extend special thanks to Audio-Technica (Greater China)’s Managing Director, Mr. Wang O. Lee, and his leadership team. Their vision and relentless efforts have been instrumental in achieving the success we celebrate today.
Thirty years is not just a milestone—it is the start of a new journey. Let us move forward together with the spirit of One AT Team. Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all our partners, employees, and families. Without your support, there would be no Audio-Technica (Greater China) as we know it today.

Mr. Wang O. Lee, Managing Director of Audio-Technica (Greater China): From a Briefcase to a 30-Year Journey Across Greater China
At the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Audio-Technica Greater China, Mr. Lee recounted the company’s humble beginnings and its remarkable growth throughout the region. He said:
“On March 29, 1995, the company was established in Hong Kong under the name ‘Technica Engineering Ltd.’ with fewer than ten people on the team. The market was still uncertain, and in those early days, I carried a briefcase around the city, personally visiting clients and promoting AT products. Although there were many setbacks along the way, I firmly believed in what we were doing. With that conviction, we laid one solid step after another and built a strong foundation.
As our business grew, our performance gained the recognition of Mr. Hideo Matsushita, the founder of Audio-Technica, and Mr. Kazuo Matsushita, the current President. In 2003, the company was officially renamed Audio-Technica (Greater China) Ltd. I still vividly remember the day the company was founded — it feels like just yesterday, and yet here we are, thirty years later.
A few years ago, I had planned to hand over the reins to the next generation. However, as the global industry rapidly transformed and technology evolved at breakneck speed, the audio market faced immense challenges amid digital transformation. At this critical juncture, I chose to return to the front lines and personally lead the team into a new era.
Looking ahead, we will increase our investment in analog audio technologies, continuing to explore the possibilities of blending authentic sound with cutting-edge innovation — all while remaining steadfast in our pursuit of sonic excellence.
Most importantly, I will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with our partners as we work together toward our shared goals. Let Audio-Technica and Audio-Technica (Greater China) Ltd. continue to grow and thrive, moving confidently into an even greater future.”
At the conclusion of the celebration, Mr. Kazuo Matsushita personally presented long service awards to employees who have served Audio-Technica (Greater China) for 30 years, paying heartfelt tribute to those who have stood by the company since its founding. Their dedication and perseverance have been the cornerstone of Audio-Technica’s steady growth.
In addition, employees with 20 to 29 years of service were also recognized. Mr. Kotaro Narihara, Executive Managing Director of Audio-Technica Corporation, personally presented the awards, acknowledging their many years of hard work and contribution.
Thirty years marks not only a significant milestone, but also the beginning of a new journey. Moving forward, Audio-Technica will continue to uphold the spirit of “One AT Team,” working hand in hand with all partners toward an even brighter and more outstanding future.
